...Cosmetology & Nail Tech CE Deadline in Illinois is September 30, 2013.

This Cosmetology exam prep contains 3 practice test with hundreds of multiple choice test questions.  Review questions are broken out into 26 chapters with over 1,000 multiple choice practice questions. 

You will also have video of what will be expected of you for your Practical Exam.

The review questions contain topics covering Skin, Hair and Nails, so whether you are studying for your license as a cosmetologist, nail technician or esthetician the practice exam will help you become more familiar with the license exam format, to help you pass your test.

Each of the sample questions goes over the subjects covered on the cosmetologist state license exam. Here are a few examples of the practice questions:

1. The consistent growth of the salon industry has generated a annual gross revenue of:

      a. $50 million

      b. $50 billion*

      c. $100 million

      d. $1 billion

Feedback: The salon industry continues to experience rapid growth. The most recent annual gross revenue for the industry is $50 billion.

2. Government agencies regulate the salon industry by providing:

      a. Continuing education

      b.  Standards for the industry*

      c .Trade publications

      d. Job opportunities

Feedback: Federal and state agencies regulate the salon industry by creating standards for health and safety. These standards are intended to provide uniform regulations that are up to date with regards to health and safety.

3. When pressing short hair at the temples and at the back of the neck, do not use:

      a. Moderate heat

      b. High heat*

      c.  A pressing comb

      d. A temple comb

Feedback: When pressing short hair at the temples and at the back of the neck, do not use high heat. Hair is generally more fragile in these areas. Since the hair is shorter in these areas, there will be less hair being pressed at one time. If the heat is set too high, this smaller amount of hair will be easily damaged.
